Our stay with East Coast Retreat’s was great! Perfect location, far enough away that it was never too loud but easily walkable. House was as described, host was responsive and provided great instructions. Would recommend!
We recently visited Portland for a wedding and needed a place to stay for 3 couples and an infant. East Coast Retreat’s place was the perfect spot!! Great walking distance to down town with plenty to do. The photos don’t do the place justice, it felt much larger in person in my opinion! Bathrooms, kitchen, and bedroom were pristine, all well equipped with anything you would need for your stay. They provided a pack n play and were communicative throughout our stay. Highly recommend!
The place worked perfectly for us (a family of 4 with two adult children). Location is great-- quiet residential area but easy walk to coffee shops, restaurants, the wharf and downtown. We used the kitchen for breakfast on a couple of occasions-- well equipped and comfortable to use. Great appliances. Comfortable beds. Good communication with the hosts. Highly recommend as a base to enjoy Portland and surroundings.

The space was accurately described but not conducive to an our family with a toddler. Would stay there again without small kids.

This is a great place to stay in Portland! The apartment was very clean with relatively new furniture and very comfortable beds. The provided plenty of linens, extra pillow and blankets. They even have blankets in the living room for hanging out on the couch. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, cups, mugs, flatware, pans, cooking utensils and pretty much anything you might need. The location is excellent and there are many restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance. The hosts were proactive with communication and very responsive. Check-in and check out were easy and well explained. The neighborhood is quiet and the off street parking was appreciated.
We enjoyed our stay! Initially, I booked 2 hotel rooms for a quick visit for my husband, oldest son, and myself but I’m so glad I didn’t. The place was perfect for us and I especially enjoyed having the stocked kitchen and common room. The easy parking was also a bonus. Absolutely loved the location which was near the old port and Congress Street with some great restaurants. The beds were super comfortable and we had plenty of fresh towels. While we didn’t get a chance to do any cooking, I appreciated that the kitchen was stocked with essentials, which is a nice touch. The hosts were super nice to communicate with. Recommend staying here and would consider staying there again.
It was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. It was an easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants.
We picked this spot for a 6-person girls trip. The location was amazing. We could walk to several spots to grab breakfast in the morning. And all our Uber rides to town were a few minutes. The 2 parking spots were incredibly convenient. If I did have a question, our host answered right away.

Clean, nice location.
This was a perfect place for our family. Our children and grandchild all stayed comfortably in the 3 rooms. The kitchen was beautiful and the living room was small but spacious enough. We chose this spot for the location, as we had a family wedding in the area. This apartment and location do not disappoint. Hosts were very responsive and great to deal with. All went smoothly and we commented many times over during the weekend that we had made a great find!!
Place was a 10-15 mins walk to town. Parking was great. Sunny and bright. No closets in bedroom. Not an issue for us. Will recommend to guests.
Lovely spot in Portland! I appreciated the location and that the unit looked like the photos. Communication was initially a bit difficult - I requested early check-in but had to follow up, and we were told there would be two keys (but there was only one). Host was very responsive after initial lag, and I would definitely stay there again! Thanks for a great trip.
Wonderful, spacious apartment with three bedrooms, kitchen, and den. The location is excellent - able to walk easily to many places in town. Having dedicated parking next to the unit is very helpful - made it easy to get in and out of the place.
Beautiful home, perfect location.
The brick apartment was great for our group of 6 adults. Finding a rental with three bedrooms and more than one bathroom plus parking in a quiet area of Portland can be difficult. The location is great, just a short walk to the arts district, downtown Portland, and Old Port area. It was very hot and humid during our visit and having a/c was a lifesaver. The apartment was very clean, and although we were not traveling with our dog, there were no signs of pets having stayed in the unit. The hosts are very organized and responsive. We would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was in great condition, had all the amenities that were described, and was very walkable. It was really nice to have 2 on-site parking spots - although it was easy to find street parking too. The hosts were excellent communicators and were very accomodating. We would love to stay here again.

East Coast Retreat was wonderful to stay at! Steve and Kristen were very responsive and the house was perfect for a chill bachelorette party. If my fiancé didn't have sensative skin I would have bought the exact same pair of sheets that came with the bed. One thing to note however is that there's only AC in one of the bedrooms and the living room. While it wasn't too hot of a weekend, you may want to bring some extra fans if you sleep hot. Otherwise getting into the house and leaving was super easy and I would reccomend this place to anyone!

We were very happy with the accommodations, it fitted our family perfectly. The curb appeal is lovely as is the brick historic home. The apartment is on a very quiet street, and within walking distance to where we wanted to go. The 2 parking spots were greatly appreciated as we were a group with 3 cars, one was able to find street parking right in front of the rental. We also needed the second 1/2 bathroom for our group of 6, which we have found is hard to come by in the Portland Old Port area. We would definitely stay here again and again.

This Captains house is located in a very central, but also quiet neighborhood, walking distance to several bookstores and many restaurants, ideal walking with a doggie as well. The house itself has what looks to be about 4 apartments with a central staircase making it very quiet. Our apartment had a lower level with two bedrooms, and an upper floor with two living rooms and 2-TV set up’s (no squabbling about shows to watch) a spacious kitchen and bathroom, shower was great and washer dryer was an added feature to dry towels. We were there in the winter so didn’t get to enjoy the raised patio & gardens.

Absolutely loved our stay at Steve & Kristen’s place in Portland!!! The apartment is unbelievably spacious and comfortable and a very short walk to the Old Port. Stayed here with our 8 year old daughter and my mother in law and with the pull out couch, there was plenty of room. The hosts truly thought of everything - we did not need to worry about bringing anything. This place truly felt like the best of Airbnb - hotel amenity features but in a lovely apartment and with laundry. Recommend without hesitation.

The corner condo was exactly as described in the listing. such a cute unit, and the amenities were as listed. And the beds were comfy! We didn't need to use the kitchen during our stay, but if we did, everything you would need was there. The location was great! And Steve & Kristen provided a guidebook (online) that included everything about the house, local eats, and things to do. For me, if my dog settles in right away, then it's an A++ in my book. My Acadia felt right at home and made so.e human and for-legged friends in the neighborhood.

Superb location with the added benefit of off-street parking in one of Portland's nicest neighborhoods. The best restaurants on the peninsula are a 10 - 20 minute walk away.Spacious and full of amenities. Along with friendly neighbors.Hosts were extremely responsive, and allowed us an early check-in with no issue.As frequent travelers to Portland, this will be on our very short list for future stays.

Had a great stay here for a long weekend w/ 2 adults, 1 kid, and 1 dog. The best part of this place is location- central to everything Portland has to offer, including a short walk to the main areas of town. We appreciated the ability to park, butt note that it's a tight spot; our midsize car was able to squeeze in between the stone wall to 1 side and the very large cars parked to the other, but if you have a large vehicle it would be tough to navigate in/out of the shared tandem driveway. The apt. was very comfortable and well appointed, w/ plenty of space for us to spread out for play and relaxation. Especially nice TV, couch, and Christmas tree (nice touch!) made the living room perfect for us. I loved the downstairs bedrooms w/ good blackout shades (often overlooked by Airbnbs!), but also be warned that the ceilings are very low downstairs. Anyone over 5 ft 10 will need to watch their head, but can get a great night's sleep in the comfortable beds! Would recommend and stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay at Steve and Kristen’s. The booking process was super smooth and they sent out helpful instructions that made check in a breeze. The place was clean, modern, and spacious. We went as a family of four plus our dog plus a last minute addition (wife’s mother) and we felt we had plenty of space. The weather was pretty crummy while we were there and felt lucky to have this nice place since we spent more time indoors than we had hoped due to the rain. Great neighborhood, nice to have parking, very walkable to the Commercial st area, downtown and the old port. Easy on/off the main highway for day trips. We would definitely stay again

A few friends and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Steve and Kristen’s home in Portland. What an amazing location! The space was quiet, but a quick walk away from all of the places we wanted to visit in town. We loved walking to the Old Port and roaming around town for dinner and shopping. The house itself was beautiful and very nicely maintained. The pull-out couch was reportedly “comfier than average” with two adults. Steve and Kristen put thought into the amenities - we had everything we needed. Check-in and -out were easy with their detailed instructions. They were in touch via the app a few times during our stay and were always responsive, even letting us check in a little early. Thanks Steve and Kristen for the great weekend!

We had a great stay, very walkable to everything, lots of great restaurants nearby, and particularly loved the private parking. Hosts were very receptive, when I could not find the entry instructions, sent them a message and they got back in 5 minutes, and let us check in early! Thanks. Only thing I would have liked is something to hang our coats on just inside the entryway. Oh, and beware, the water gets hot very very quickly. Overall, great stay.Natalia

We were here for a friends wedding and this was perfect.
We loved our stay at Steve & Kristen’s place! The bedrooms have awesome blackout curtains, super handy for our baby’s naps, and there is great AC throughout the apartment. We were impressed with the high quality appliances and furniture. Fast wifi and — a super rare occurrence — they left various steaming apps logged in and set to guest profiles, so we didn’t have to mess around with our personal passwords. I wish more hosts would do this! We would happily stay again, and enjoyed our time in the West End.
This apartment was comfortable and well located. The bedrooms are a good size, but needed more lighting for reading in bed other than on a tablet. The half bath is small but worked well for our needs. The kitchen was well equipment and we were able to cook and eat in the kitchen easily. We were an easy walk to downtown and the neighborhood where the house is located is lovely. Beautiful brick houses and lots of greenery. It was very comfortable for the 5 of us and we enjoyed our stay.

Steve and Kristen's place was a great option for a long weekend in Portland. We were a party of 6 (3 couples). The bedrooms downstairs were large, and even the upstairs office where the pullout couch is located was spacious. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the place seemed very clean. Most importantly, it was in a great location for walking into/out of the downtown area, and there was a designated parking space. One thing to note is that there's only a small 2-person table and some stools in the kitchen (no real dining table/area). Also, the kitchen isn't stocked with basics (tea kettle, salt/pepper, sugar, oil, etc.) like some places are.
As a former Airbnb host, I really enjoyed my stay at Steve and Kristin’s condo. The condo was very clean, spacious, and organized. There were some thoughtful touches as well. I would definitely stay again!

Lovely views just outside the door, and a beautiful outdoor sitting spot our cats loved. You can basically walk everywhere. Again, amazing location!! The home itself is spaceous, gorgeous, and cozy. This was a lovely home in a location very close to old town action and the lovely restaurants. The house does not have central a/c so we were a little nervous but we were pleasantly surprised when we reached the home.. each and every room had a super powerful cooler that was set to 68 degrees and the house was extremely cool and pleasant. Very nice gesture!The kitchen was very well equipped. The bedrooms are on a lower floor but are accessible directly from the driveway too ..which is very convenient to move bags in and out of cars. We were a family of 4 with our golden doodle and the house was spacious and comfortable for all of us!
